Ashley Montague has worked in the medium of acrylics and mixed media techniques since his youth. Raised by artist parents, abstract and impressionist visions were the everyday sight. Nowadays, add some aerosol, a keen sense of flow and motion, a heap of color, and you've got the recipe for some tasty visual elixirs. His paintings are direct extensions of his ideas and feelings, sometimes trailing concepts for weeks. You can watch the themes and color palettes morph and weave, creating a 'remixed' version of the last, but only for a second…until they take on direction all their own. "Entering the land of the unknown and unplanned is what really keeps me going... not knowing my next move but still stepping sure footed, really working through a piece on every level..." He currently works and resides in NE Portland, OR at his home studio. Ashley keeps busy with projects ranging from murals to design work and always creating personal paintings to get that inner voice heard.
